  • 2021 - Price range: €1,254 - €6,214
    The price opened on May 1 at €5.88 and soon after climbed to about €6.21. That was followed by a long decline with interim rallies and sharp swings; by the end of December, AKT was around €1.46, about 75.2% lower than at the start of May. This period lined up with the early Mainnet rollouts, exchange and DEX listings, and public discussion about the high initial token issuance and vesting schedules, which were relevant for staking and available supply in 2021.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0.1121 - €2.521
    AKT traded around €1.53 at the start of January and fell throughout the year, with a low around €0.11 in December. The token ended the year around €0.18, about 88.3% lower than in mid-January. This weak performance lined up with broad market stress after the Terra/UST collapse in May 2022 and a tough crypto market for many tokens.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0.1121 - €2.48
    AKT started 2023 around €0.21 and climbed strongly over the course of the year with a sharp rebound starting in the summer; by the end of December, the price closed around €2.11, an increase of about 882.3% compared with the start of January. This recovery came alongside major mainnet upgrades that added GPU support and a GPU marketplace, as well as broader market enthusiasm for GPU/AI-focused compute platforms.
  • 2024 - Price range: €1.50 - €6.449
    AKT traded around €2.33 at the start of January and rose to a peak in May near €6.45. In the summer, the price pulled back to around €1.50, after which it recovered to about €2.77 by the end of December, about 18.6% higher than at the start of January. The move took place during several mainnet upgrades and improvements to payments and staking access, and against the backdrop of renewed institutional interest in crypto in early 2024.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.2979 - €3.894
    AKT started 2025 around €2.92, with a brief peak in January at €3.89. After that, the price weakened sharply over the year to a low around €0.30 in December and ended the year around €0.32, about 89.1% lower than in mid-January. This happened while Akash kept expanding its network and launched Mainnet 14 in October, a major technical upgrade that included an update to the Cosmos SDK and modernization of several infrastructure components.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.2156 - €0.5552
    The quarter opened around €0.316 and the price dropped in February to about €0.22 before recovering in March to around €0.43; that is an increase of about 36.3% from the start of the quarter. This rebound happened during a period of continued demand for AI-related GPU computing power in the sector.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.3589 - €0.82104
    AKT opened the quarter around €0.43, briefly fell to about €0.36, and then recovered to about €0.56 by the end of June, an increase of about 29.6% from the start of the quarter. This quarter lined up with routine upgrades and version management activity focused on network reliability and provider behavior.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.35853 - €0.7735
    AKT started the quarter around €0.56, briefly moved up to about €0.77 in early July, and then dropped to around €0.36 in August. On September 2, the price was around €0.43, about 23.4% lower than at the start of the quarter. This move took place against the backdrop of continued demand for decentralized GPU capacity and periodic network volatility.

  • Akash on Shared Security (AEP-79) - Expected in Q4 2026 - AEP-79 is a planned migration program to move Akash from a standalone Cosmos SDK mainchain to a shared-security model with a partner Layer-1. The migration includes partner selection, migration documentation, and execution of the chain migration. The goal is to reduce the staking liquidity burden and outsource L1 maintenance while keeping IBC interoperability in place.
  • Managed Services Market (AEP-11) - Expected in December 2026 - AEP-11 describes a permissionless marketplace for managed services (databases and managed backends) so tenants have less operational overhead. The item is on the 2026 roadmap with an estimated completion in mid-December 2026.
  • On-chain Provider Incentives (AEP-53) - Expected in December 2026 - AEP-53 defines on-chain incentives to attract and retain providers, including GPU providers. The roadmap item is scheduled for rollout by the end of 2026 and is meant to support more and more stable provider capacity on Mainnet.
  • Virtual Machines (AEP-49) - Expected in September 2026 - AEP-49 introduces support for Virtual Machines so tenants can deploy and manage VM workloads on Akash (KubeVirt/VM integration). It is meant to make stateful and enterprise-like workloads possible and is listed as planned on the roadmap for the end of September 2026.
