  • In 2017 - Tron was founded by Justin Sun and launched its ICO in September 2017. The first TRX tokens were issued as ERC-20 tokens on Ethereum, priced at just a fraction of a euro cent.
  • In 2018 - In June 2018, Tron migrated from Ethereum to its own mainnet, becoming an independent blockchain. In the same year, Tron acquired the BitTorrent platform, which gave the network a huge boost in visibility and adoption.
  • In 2020 - Tron secured a strong position in the DeFi market with the launch of JustSwap (now SunSwap), a decentralized exchange on the Tron network.
  • In 2021 - During the 2021 bull market, TRX reached a peak of around €0.12. Tron was widely used for stablecoin transactions, especially USDT, establishing itself as one of the most used blockchains for value transfers.
  • In 2022 - Despite the crypto market crash, Tron held up relatively better than most competitors. The network continued to process billions of dollars in stablecoin volume, maintaining TRX’s role as a utility token within the ecosystem.
  • In 2024 - Tron gained more international recognition, including partnerships in emerging markets in Asia and Africa. Tron’s role in stablecoin transactions grew even larger, and TRX saw greater adoption as a utility token.
  • In 2025 - Tron is now among the top blockchains in terms of daily transaction volume. Thanks to continuous improvements in scalability and efficiency, TRX solidified its position as an established player in the global blockchain ecosystem.
