  • 2020 - Price range: €0.02468 - €0.07331
    The public SAND token sale through Binance Launchpad was completed on August 14. Around that time, the price reached about €0.073. After that, SAND fell to around €0.0247 in November and then recovered to about €0.0292 by the end of the year.
  • 2021 - Price range: €0.02845 - €7.526
    SAND started the year around €0.029 and climbed sharply from the spring onward. In October, Facebook's metaverse strategy, which continued under the name Meta, got a lot of attention. The Sandbox also announced a $93 million investment in November and launched the first public Alpha Season, with a selection of playable experiences. The price reached about €7.53 in November and ended the year around €5.14, about 17,499.9% higher than at the start.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0.3542 - €5.286
    SAND started the year around €5.14, but then fell for almost the entire year. The collapse of Terra and UST in May caused heavy stress across the crypto market, which spread to lenders and other crypto companies. In November, the collapse of FTX caused fresh turmoil. SAND ended the year around €0.357, about 93.1% lower than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0.2565 - €0.8730
    SAND rose quickly in January and February from about €0.36 to nearly €0.87. In June, the SEC named SAND in a complaint against Binance as a token that the regulator said was offered and sold as a security; this was not a court ruling. Later, the price fell to around €0.2565 in September, after which it recovered. In November, LAND owners could publish their finished experiences directly on The Sandbox map. SAND ended the year around €0.540, about 51.2% higher than at the start.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0.1910 - €1.015
    SAND started the year around €0.54 and rose to about €0.75 in March. After that, the price fell, reaching around €0.191 in August. In June, The Sandbox started the first phase of its DAO, where SAND and LAND holders could help decide on things like improvements and events. The price recovered strongly in the fall and reached about €1.015 in December, but then dropped back to around €0.526 by year-end. That was about 2.6% lower than at the start of the year.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.09086 - €0.7125
    SAND rose to about €0.712 in the first days of January, but then gradually lost ground. In March, Alpha Season 5 brought more than 40 playable experiences, including content around Jurassic World. Later that year, The Sandbox announced an AI-focused strategy and SANDchain, a creator network that was not live yet. The price ended the year around €0.0924, about 82.4% lower than at the start.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.05968 - €0.1508
    SAND rose in January from about €0.092 to a peak around €0.151. After that, the price dropped sharply and reached about €0.0597 in early February. In the same quarter, Season 7 made selected experiences playable in a browser, including on mobile browsers, without players needing to download the game client. SAND then recovered slightly and ended March around €0.0653, about 29.3% lower than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.03728 - €0.07389
    SAND started April around €0.0655 and later that month rose to about €0.0739. In May, the price mostly moved lower, and in early June it fell to around €0.0373. The quarter ended around €0.0407, about 37.9% lower than at the start. In June, The Sandbox announced The Sandbox Studio, an environment with AI tools for creating and publishing games; creators could sign up for the alpha.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.02824 - €0.0463
    SAND reached about €0.0463 in early July, but then gradually declined. In August, a vulnerability in the SAND bridge between Ethereum, Base, and BNB Smart Chain was exploited. This allowed the attacker to create SAND without a valid deposit backing it. The affected bridge was shut down; the existing SAND supply on Ethereum and the separate Polygon bridge were not affected. The Sandbox opened a compensation process for affected holders in September. The price fell to around €0.0282 in September and then recovered to about €0.0387 by the end of the quarter.     Through October 9, SAND rose from about €0.0387 to a peak around €0.0785, after which the price fell back to about €0.0601. In October, the handling of individual requests from users who had missed the compensation deadline after the bridge attack also continued.
