  • 2021 - Price range: €0.3319 - €3.2724
    RARE was introduced on August 17, when SuperRare also announced plans for SuperRare 2.0. The price then rose quickly and peaked in October at €3.27. By the end of the year, the price had fallen back to about €0.83, roughly 74.7% lower than at the peak.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0.08355 - €1.098
    RARE started the year around €0.83 and climbed to about €1.10 in early January. After that, the price fell for most of the year, with a brief rebound in March, to about €0.0836 in December. The collapse of TerraUSD and LUNA caused major turmoil in the crypto market in May. In November, the fall of FTX followed, which added even more uncertainty. RARE ended the year around €0.094, about 88.6% lower than where it started.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0.0493 - €0.176
    RARE rose in January and reached about €0.176 in early February. After that, the price gradually declined, hitting a low of around €0.0493 in October. In the final months, it recovered: by the end of November, the price moved up quickly, and in December it often traded around €0.11 to €0.16. That year, SuperRare launched RARE Protocol on Ethereum. This let users lock up RARE tokens to show support for artists or collectors. These public endorsements helped others discover new artists and artworks. That gave RARE a role not just in voting, but also in discovering and evaluating digital art.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0.0518 - €0.3148
    RARE started the year around €0.108 and rose to about €0.20 in March and April. After that, the price pulled back and reached about €0.0518 in early August. In the second half of August, it saw a sharp rebound to €0.3148, after which the price fell again and ended the year around €0.108. In early 2024, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs were approved, giving investors access to bitcoin through stock exchanges. SuperRare also announced a partnership around Bitcoin Ordinals, expanding its art curation into inscriptions on Bitcoin.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.00731 - €0.13326
    RARE started the year around €0.108 and reached about €0.133 in March. After that, the price dropped sharply, with a brief rebound in March, to about €0.00731 in October. That steep drop came alongside a broad sell-off in the crypto market after an escalation in trade tensions between the U.S. and China. In July, SuperRare also reported a hack of the RareStakingV1 contract, where about 11.9 million RARE was taken from the rewards pool. The price ended the year around €0.0182, about 83.2% lower than at the start.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.011815 - €0.02878
    RARE rose in January from about €0.018 to €0.0288. After that, the price declined in steps, and by the end of March it was around €0.0122, about 32.5% lower than at the start of the quarter. In January, NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway switched to a mode where users could only withdraw funds. That meant a well-known marketplace was pulling out of the sector. In March, SuperRare also presented the artwork Panorama, which uses Liquid Editions. In this setup, tradable tokens are tied to a digital artwork, and price moves affect how the artwork develops.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.009955 - €0.021815
    RARE started April around €0.0122 and briefly rose to about €0.0218 in the middle of the month. After that, the price fell back. By the end of June, it was around €0.0105, about 14.4% lower than at the start of the quarter. In April, Foundation confirmed that its marketplace would not reopen. During this period, SuperRare also offered card payments for certain fixed USDC listings. That let some collectors pay with a credit or debit card, while the sale was still settled on the blockchain.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.0094355 - €0.0221845
    RARE mostly traded around €0.01 in July and August. In mid-September, the price dropped to about €0.00944, then quickly climbed to €0.0222. By the end of September, it pulled back to about €0.0151. Over the full quarter, the price rose 44.3%. In July, SuperRare documented more advanced developer tools for RARE Protocol, including a TypeScript software package and an MCP server. These let developers use platform features like creating collections and transactions programmatically.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0.013289 - €0.016112
    From October 1 through October 9, RARE traded between about €0.0133 and €0.0161. After a drop in the first week, the price recovered to around €0.0149. On October 5, the CFTC opened a consultation on rules for certain crypto transactions and markets. This is a request for feedback, not a set of rules or a decision about RARE.
