  • 2021 - Price range: €3.19 - €22.99
    RAD was introduced in February as the governance token of Radicle. The price fell to around €3.19 in the summer and then rose sharply, reaching nearly €22.99 in October. By the end of the year, the price was around €9.54. The launch of RAD gave token holders voting rights and made funding through the community treasury possible. The broad crypto sell-off in May lined up with a sharp drop in the price. In September, RAD became available on Coinbase, allowing customers in supported regions to trade, send, and store the token there.
  • 2022 - Price range: €1.28 - €10.32
    RAD started the year around €9.54 and quickly fell back in January. After a brief recovery in the spring, the price kept dropping and ended December around €1.42, about 85.1% lower than at the start of the year. The collapse of Terra and UST in May, along with the problems that followed at crypto companies, created a period of heavy stress in the crypto market. In November, the fall of FTX caused broad concern again.
  • 2023 - Price range: €1.09 - €5.64
    RAD started the year around €1.42 and climbed quickly in the spring to about €5.64. After that, the price dropped sharply and reached about €1.09 in August. By the end of the year, RAD recovered to around €1.76, about 24.1% higher than at the start of the year. In April, Radicle introduced Heartwood, an updated version of the protocol for developer collaboration. In July, RadicleDAO was renamed Radworks, making the organization more clearly separate from the Radicle and Drips products.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0.7719 - €3.345
    RAD started the year around €1.76 and rose to about €3.34 in March. That was followed by a long decline: in August, the price fell to about €0.77. By the end of December, RAD was around €1.28, about 27.2% lower than at the start of the year. In September, Radicle released version 1.0.0. That officially launched the new version of the collaboration protocol, which was based on Heartwood, after months of testing.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0.1896 - €1.415
    RAD started the year around €1.28 and rose further in January to about €1.42. After that, the price gradually declined, with a brief rebound in March, and stood around €0.29 in December. That was about 77.2% lower than at the start of the year. In June, Radicle introduced a desktop app, letting users manage repositories and collaborate on code through a graphical interface without having to rely on command-line tools all the time. In October, the price drop lined up with broad unrest in the crypto market after a threat of extra import tariffs on Chinese goods and a wave of forced liquidations.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0.1756 - €0.3816
    RAD started the quarter at €0.292 and briefly peaked above €0.38 on the first day. After that, the price gradually declined and ended March around €0.189, about 35.4% lower than at the start of the quarter. In January, it became possible for the first time to build a Radicle node on Windows, although support was still experimental. At the end of March, after a report about a vulnerability in signed references, the project released version 1.8.0 with extra checks to detect attacks using previously signed data and rollbacks to older versions.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0.1759 - €0.3653
    RAD mostly traded around €0.19 in April. In May, the price briefly rose to about €0.37, then fell again and ended June around €0.185. That was about 1.5% lower than at the start of the quarter. In June, Radicle introduced Radicle Garden, a subscription for permanently available Radicle nodes. Those nodes can copy, host, and store repositories, even when the owner's computer is offline.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0.1740 - €0.2807
    RAD fell in July and early August to about €0.174. On August 10 and 11, a quick rebound followed to about €0.28. After that, the price pulled back and ended the quarter around €0.226, about 22.4% higher than at the start. In September, Radicle reported two serious security issues: network traffic between nodes was not encrypted and the connections were not properly authenticated. As a result, third parties may have been able to intercept data. The team advised users not to share private repositories for the time being, because private data exchanged earlier may already have been exposed.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0.2243 - €0.3846
    In the first days of October, RAD was around €0.23. On October 5 and 6, the price quickly rose to about €0.38, then fell back to around €0.29 on October 9. That was about 29.1% higher than on October 1. During the same period, the U.S. CFTC started a public consultation on rules for crypto transactions and markets. The agency asked for feedback; no final trading rules had been set yet.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • Migration of the Radicle network to iroh - timing not yet known - In an upcoming major release, Radicle wants network traffic to run through iroh. This should address the problems with encryption and identifying other network participants, and it may also improve the connection. The switch is not backward compatible: updated nodes cannot communicate with older versions. Repository storage should remain compatible, though. No release date is known yet.
