  • 2019 - Price range: €0,00905 - €0,3781
    Hedera opened its existing mainnet beta to the public on September 16. The price peaked in September at around €0,3781, but then dropped quickly and was around €0,0091 at the end of December. From the peak, HBAR fell about 97,6%.
  • 2020 - Price range: €0,00896 - €0,07563
    HBAR started the year around €0,0091 and quickly climbed in January and February to about €0,0756. After that, it pulled back; in March, the price briefly fell below €0,02 during the financial shock around COVID-19. Hedera made its Consensus Service publicly available in February, allowing apps to record timestamps and the order of events. HBAR ended the year around €0,0261, about 186,2% higher than at the start.
  • 2021 - Price range: €0,02448 - €0,48497
    HBAR started the year around €0,026 and rose sharply in the first few months. In March, the price climbed above €0,37, followed by a steep drop. Later, the price picked up again and peaked in September at around €0,485. In February, Hedera Token Service went live, letting users issue tokens directly on the network. HBAR ended the year around €0,255, about 880,9% higher than at the start.
  • 2022 - Price range: €0,03336 - €0,30097
    HBAR started the year around €0,256 and rose to about €0,301 in early January. After that, the price fell for most of the year, with extra sharp losses in May and November. The collapse of Terra and UST caused heavy stress in the crypto market in May; in November, the fall of FTX caused fresh turmoil. Hedera launched Smart Contracts 2.0 in February, greatly expanding the network's support for Ethereum-compatible smart contracts. Later that year, Hedera also introduced native staking for HBAR holders, with staking rewards becoming available at a later stage. The price ended the year around €0,034, about 86,7% lower than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €0,03385 - €0,09195
    HBAR rose quickly in January and February from about €0,034 to nearly €0,092. After that, the price pulled back and mostly traded between €0,04 and €0,06 for months. In March, a vulnerability in Hedera's smart contract service was exploited; the network temporarily restricted access while a fix was rolled out. In December, HBAR moved up again and ended the year around €0,0781, about 130% higher than at the start.
  • 2024 - Price range: €0,03837 - €0,3729
    HBAR started the year around €0,078 and rose above €0,12 in February and March. After a pullback, there was a short, sharp jump at the end of April around an Archax announcement about tokenized BlackRock fund shares on Hedera. The reporting was later clarified: BlackRock had not chosen Hedera to tokenize its funds. In November, HBAR surged again and the price climbed to about €0,373 in early December. After that came a pullback; the price ended the year around €0,259, about 231,8% higher than at the start.
  • 2025 - Price range: €0,07185 - €0,3886
    HBAR rose to about €0,389 in January, but then fell for a longer stretch. In March and April, the price recovered temporarily, after which it climbed again in July to above €0,24. The broad crypto sell-off after the U.S. announcement of extra import tariffs on China lined up with a sharp drop on October 10. HBAR was around €0,0719 then and later recovered partially. The year ended around €0,0904, about 65,1% lower than it started.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €0,06143 - €0,11528
    HBAR started January around €0,0904 and rose to about €0,115 in the first week. After that, the price gradually fell and reached about €0,0614 in early February. In February, FedEx announced it would join the Hedera Council to bring its supply chain expertise to the network. HBAR then recovered partly and ended March around €0,0757, about 16,3% lower than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €0,06023 - €0,09415
    HBAR started April around €0,0756 and mostly moved sideways that month. At the end of May, the price rose to about €0,0942, followed by a decline. Around the same time, HashSphere became generally available: a separate private network for organizations that need closed infrastructure. HBAR ended June around €0,0608, about 19,6% lower than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €0,05550 - €0,11503
    HBAR started July around €0,0608 and fell to about €0,0555 in August. After that, the price recovered, with a strong jump at the end of September to about €0,115. That peak did not last long; HBAR ended the quarter around €0,0924, still about 52% higher than at the start. At the end of September, Hedera also rolled out mainnet update v0.77, including support for Ethereum Pectra and a new transaction fee system.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €0,07823 - €0,09519
    At the start of October, HBAR was around €0,0924. After a brief rise to about €0,0952, the price fell and was around €0,0805 on October 9, about 12,9% lower than at the start of the month. The drop lined up with turmoil in the crypto market after rising tensions in the Middle East and higher oil prices.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • Record Stream to Block Stream Cutover - Expected in December 2026 - Hedera wants to switch to a single, uniform Block Stream format on December 9 that replaces the existing data streams. This would let network data be checked and processed in a consistent way. Mirror node operators need to update their software in time to keep receiving new data. The date is still tentative and could change.
