  • 2021 - Price range: €9.56 - €42.83
    GMX launched on Arbitrum in September. Around September 21, the price was €9.56 and quickly climbed above €30 in October. In November, the price peaked at €42.83, after which it fell back to €19.30 by the end of the year. The increase from September to the peak was about 347.8%.
  • 2022 - Price range: €10.96 - €62.66
    GMX started the year around €19.30 and briefly rose to nearly €55 in January. After that, the price dropped, hitting a low around €10.96 in June. In the second half of the year, GMX recovered strongly and the price climbed to €62.66 in October. The FTX collapse caused broad turmoil in the crypto market in November; GMX ended the year at €38.75, about 100.8% higher than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €27.79 - €82.82
    GMX started the year around €38.76 and rose to €82.82 in the spring. In August, GMX V2 launched on Arbitrum and Avalanche, with more markets, extra collateral options, and separate liquidity pools. The price fell to €27.79 that summer, but then recovered and ended the year at €52.33, about 35% higher than at the start.
  • 2024 - Price range: €15.32 - €58.96
    GMX started the year at €52.33, but dropped in January and kept falling through the spring. In August, the price fell to €15.32, and then recovered to €26.20 by the end of the year. In September, GMX introduced Liquidity Vaults, which automatically spread liquidity across suitable markets. The first U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs went live in January, an important development for the broader crypto market. Over all of 2024, GMX fell about 49.9%.
  • 2025 - Price range: €3.334 - €29.23
    GMX started the year at €26.20 and rose to €29.23 in the first week. After that, the price mostly declined, hitting a low of €3.334 in October. In July, the GLP pool of GMX V1 on Arbitrum was hit by an exploit that drained about 40 to 42 million dollars. As a precaution, GMX paused trading and the creation and withdrawal of GLP on Arbitrum and Avalanche. V2 and the GMX token contracts were not affected. Most of the stolen funds were later returned. GMX ended the year at €6.56, about 75% lower than at the start.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €4.465 - €7.619
    GMX climbed to €7.62 in early January, but then fell and reached €4.47 in February. The price then recovered to €5.54 by the end of March. In the same month, GMX stopped paying staking rewards directly: from then on, the revenue went to the treasury, while 27% of protocol fees was used for token buybacks. GMX also launched on MegaETH, with three markets and a liquidity vault.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €4.240 - €6.925
    GMX started April at €5.53 and rose to €6.93 in May. After that, the price gradually declined and fell to €4.24 on June 25. The quarter ended at €4.64, about 16.1% lower than it started. In April, GMX added perpetual markets for crude oil and natural gas, allowing users to trade on price moves in these commodities around the clock, outside the crypto market too.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €4.578 - €7.523
    GMX started July at €4.64 and gradually rose above €6 that month. In August and September, the price kept climbing, with a peak of €7.52 in September. After that, it pulled back slightly to €6.98 by the end of the quarter. The price rose about 50.6% over the quarter. In August, GMX added perpetual markets that track the prices of the U.S. ETFs QQQ and SPY, without users owning the ETF shares themselves.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €6.876 - €8.024
    GMX started October at €6.98 and climbed to €8.02. After that, the price dropped to €6.88 on October 8, followed by a recovery to €7.59 on October 9. On October 6, GMX launched the USDG Dollar Vault, a liquidity vault that spreads USDG across markets for bitcoin, ether, and Solana. The vault avoids direct exposure to swings in volatile collateral, but liquidity providers still face risk from trading results and protocol issues.
