Ethereum Name Service Price History


  • 2021 - Price range: €19.79 - €74.64
    ENS only started the period with price data in November. On November 8, the project launched the ENS token and DAO, which let token holders vote on protocol changes and treasury spending. The price then quickly climbed to €74.64 and later fell back to €34.30 by the end of the year.
  • 2022 - Price range: €7.087 - €36.80
    ENS started the year around €34.30, but dropped sharply in the first few months. In May, the price fell to €7.09, followed by a partial recovery. The decline took place during a rough year for the crypto market: the collapse of TerraUSD and problems at crypto companies caused broad unease. FTX's collapse in November brought more market stress. ENS ended the year around €10.03, about 70.7% lower than at the start.
  • 2023 - Price range: €6.331 - €16.81
    ENS started the year around €10.03 and rose to €16.81 in January and February. After that, the price gradually declined, hitting a low around €6.33 in October. In April, improvements were made to ENS. With Name Wrapper, users got more options for managing subnames and the rights tied to them. By the end of the year, ENS had recovered to €9.26.
  • 2024 - Price range: €7.617 - €47.78
    ENS started the year around €9.26 and rose strongly in the spring, with some ups and downs along the way. In May, the price climbed above €20, and in December it rose further to €47.78. In February, users could connect their existing GoDaddy domain to a crypto wallet through ENS for free. Later that year, integrations with PayPal and Venmo made it possible to use an ENS name instead of a long wallet address for supported crypto transfers. ENS ended the year at €31.78, about 243.3% higher than at the start.
  • 2025 - Price range: €7.4901 - €37.4136
    ENS started the year around €31.78 and rose to €37.41 in January. After that, the price kept falling with some volatility, down to €7.49 in December. In October, a sharp sell-off across the crypto market caused an estimated $19 billion in liquidations of leveraged positions. ENS ended the year around €8.03, about 74.7% lower than at the start.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €4.0805 - €9.8802
    ENS started January around €8.03 and first climbed to €9.88. After that, the price steadily declined, hitting a low around €4.08 in February. That same month, ENS Labs decided not to keep developing the planned Namechain and to launch ENSv2 directly on Ethereum itself. The price then partially recovered and ended March at €4.91, still about 38.9% lower than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €3.473 - €6.92695
    ENS started April around €4.90 and rose to €6.93 in May. After that, the price dropped again and reached €3.47 in June. During the same period, ENS Labs worked on a safer design for ENSv2 and adjusted the migration so users have to give explicit permission. The price ended the quarter at €3.57, about 27.2% lower than at the start.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €3.25535 - €6.5057
    ENS moved between about €3.50 and €4 throughout July and most of August. After a low around €3.26 in August, the price rose quickly. In September, it climbed further to €6.51 and ended the quarter at €6.17. In August, the public test version of the ENSv2 App and Explorer also went live on Sepolia. There, users could try out the updated name registration and migration process for test names; the existing ENS service had not yet been replaced.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €5.24195 - €6.4685
    At the start of October, ENS was around €6.17. The price briefly rose to €6.47 and then fell to €5.24; on October 9, it was back at €5.55. On October 7, ICANN published the applications for new internet domains. That was an announcement of applications, not a launch of new domains. This matters for ENS because the project also works with regular domain names, and overlapping names can cause confusion.

Upcoming Technical Updates


  • Activate ENSv2 - Expected in October 2026 - The vote on activating ENSv2 is being prepared. If the proposal is approved and carried out, ENS will stop new registrations through ENSv1 and new registrations and name lookups will become possible through ENSv2. Existing owners will still be able to renew their names and decide for themselves when to migrate. ENSv2 gives users more options for managing subnames and the rights tied to them. The voting deadline is not automatically the launch date.
