Compound Price History


  • 2020 - Price range: €54.64 - €341.66
    Starting in mid-June, COMP climbed from around €55 to nearly €342 in just a few days. After that, the price gradually pulled back, and there were still big swings in August and September. The jump lined up with the start of daily COMP distributions to Compound users. That also let people using the lending protocol build up voting rights. COMP ended the year around €122.71.
  • 2021 - Price range: €111.16 - €750.85
    COMP rose from about €122 in early January to nearly €751 in May. After that came a sharp drop; in June, the price briefly fell to around €166. The decline happened during the broad crypto market sell-off in May. In September, it also became clear that a bug in the rewards system had let some users claim too much COMP. An update in October fixed the bug, but tokens that had already been paid out by mistake were not automatically taken back. COMP ended the year around €176, about 43.5% higher than at the start.
  • 2022 - Price range: €25.26 - €214.94
    COMP started January around €176 and briefly climbed to nearly €215. After that, the price fell for almost the entire year, with a low around €25 in June. In August, Compound III went live. This new design lets users borrow one base token per market instead of multiple tokens from the same market. The second half of the year was also shaped by the Terra collapse and the fall of FTX, which caused broad turmoil across the crypto market. COMP ended around €29, about 83.5% lower than at the start of the year.
  • 2023 - Price range: €23.77 - €75.52
    COMP started the year around €29 and quickly rose above €50 in January and February. After that, the price dropped to about €24 in June before a strong summer rally followed: in July, COMP climbed to nearly €76. That rebound lined up with the expansion of Compound III to Polygon, Arbitrum, and Base, among others. After the peak, the price pulled back, but COMP ended the year around €52, about 79.1% higher than at the start.
  • 2024 - Price range: €30.80 - €133.71
    COMP started January around €52 and rose sharply in February and March, climbing above €95. After that, the price stepped down and was around €30 in early August. In the final months, a strong recovery followed: in early December, COMP climbed to nearly €134, after which the price fell back again. The SEC approved U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs in early January, an important step for regulated access to bitcoin. COMP ended the year around €70.71, about 35.7% higher than at the start.
  • 2025 - Price range: €15.75 - €89.76
    COMP briefly rose to nearly €90 in January, but then declined over the course of the year. In October, the price fell to around €15.75. That happened on the same day as a broad sell-off across the crypto market after threats of higher U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods, with many leveraged positions being unwound. COMP then recovered partially and ended the year around €21.07. For the full year, the price was about 70.2% lower.
  • Q1 2026 - Price range: €12.47 - €26.86
    COMP started January around €21 and briefly climbed to nearly €27. After that, the price fell in steps, with a low around €12.47 in February. In February, the Compound Foundation also published a proposed roadmap for v4, with plans including partner integrations and improved risk management. This was a plan, not a launch. COMP then recovered partially and ended March around €15.25, about 27.7% lower than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q2 2026 - Price range: €13.03 - €25.43
    COMP started April around €15.22 and quickly rose to nearly €25.43. After that, the price gradually moved lower, with a low around €13.03 on June 25. In April, the Compound Foundation asked for $52 million for an about two-year program to develop v4. The proposal tied later payments to milestones being reached. COMP ended the quarter around €13.29, about 12.7% lower than at the start.
  • Q3 2026 - Price range: €13.09 - €23.80
    COMP started July around €13.28 and mostly traded between about €14 and €17 in July and August. In September, the price picked up and rose to nearly €23.80. During this period, Compound launched Institutional Comet, a lending product aimed at institutions. The governance setup for this service sparked discussion about the role of COMP holders. At the end of September, a governance proposal was carried out to hand final control over Institutional Comet to existing Compound governance. The setup for who governs this service led to discussion about the role of COMP holders. COMP ended September around €21.86, about 64.6% higher than at the start of the quarter.
  • Q4 2026 - Price range: €19.98565 - €22.85
    In the first days of October, COMP rose from around €21.86 to nearly €22.85. After that, the price fell to around €19.99 before recovering to about €21.57 on October 9. On October 6, Compound carried out another step in winding down certain Comet markets on Linea and Mantle. That further limited borrowing in those markets, while repayments and liquidations remained possible.

  • Partial liquidations on mainnet - timing still unknown - Compound is working on partial liquidations on mainnet. With this, a suitable loan position would no longer need to be fully liquidated, but only part of it could be reduced. The final launch date is still unknown.
